Atlantic High football’s ‘I Will Soar’
documentary on Amazon
The “I Will Soar” documentary about Delray Beach’s Atlantic High School football program is reaching new heights in the documentary genre.
Since its worldwide debut by Bridgestone MultiMedia Group in January, the award-winning film was featured on Amazon’s homepage during its opening week and has garnered 4.5 out of 5 stars. The third rollout of “I Will Soar” will be this fall during football season and has been released on all platforms, including Amazon Prime Video.
“We are thrilled with the success of the film,” said Jane Swanko, the documentary’s director, writer and producer. “Players from high schools where the film was screened to their teams can relate to the athletes featured in the documentary.”
Swanko said comments are flowing in from New York City, Boston, Orlando, Miami and Los Angeles. Kathy Alzado, the widow of football star Lyle Alzado, praised the documentary, saying it is “inspiring and makes you want to do good things for others.”
“I Will Soar” is a documentary about Eagles’ head coach TJ Jackson’s methodology of making sure his football players perform in the classroom as well as they do on the field.
As a result of his discipline and the community’s support, 100% of his seniors graduated and attended college, with record numbers of first-generation students receiving scholarships.
In addition to its academic performance, Atlantic’s football program was ranked among the best in the nation and the Eagles are among the top high school teams in Palm Beach County.
Swanko has been screening the film for varsity football programs around the country and speaking to players about the success of the program.
“I Will Soar” took three years to complete due to COVID, but it’s all been worth it, Swanko said.
The film recently was screened for the Cleveland Heights football team in Euclid, Ohio, which is coached by former New York Jets linebacker Mac Stephens.
“I Will Soar” will be screening at Belen Jesuit in Miami in April and another at Swanko’s alma mater, Coral Gables High School where she earned All-American honors as captain of their state championship water polo team.

“I WILL SOAR” A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT ATLANTIC HIGH SCHOOL’S FOOTBALL PROGRAM (ON AND OFF THE FIELD)
The private screening of, “I WILL SOAR” is set for Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the Delray Beach iPic. Red Carpet starts at 6:00pm; film at 6:30pm. This is the true story of one city, one community high school and one coach who brought them all together and produced a winning football season with record numbers of first-generation students attending university.
Coach TJ Jackson, raised in Delray Beach, Florida, was a highly sought-after recruit and earned a football scholarship and business degree from Virginia Tech. Coach TJ had a brief stint with the NFL and returned home to take over Atlantic Community High School’s fledgling football program at the Title One school (where 80 percent of the students live at or below the poverty level).
Coach TJ applied a simple methodology in building his football program: To keep a spot on the championship-caliber team, players had to perform in the classroom. If you love the game, you have to study. For students dealing with homelessness, hunger and violent crime in their neighborhoods, Coach TJ, together with Atlantic’s Principal, Tara Dellegrotti-Ocampo, provided an opportunity to not only improve their student’s lives, but the lives of future generations.
Atlantic Community High School’s football team is seeded number one in Palm Beach County. The Eagles won the Class 7A Gold Bracket championship in the tri-county playoffs and are tops among graduation and matriculation rates for high school football programs on a national level.
Jane Swanko, an author, producer and motivational speaker was invited to talk to the team four years ago and never left. She volunteers and works with the graduating seniors on etiquette as well as transitioning them to college. Swanko teamed with cinematographer, John Sturdy and filmed the documentary in true cinéma verité, allowing those involved with the program to tell the story of the team’s success both on and off field.
An emotional roller coaster of many feel-good moments, the documentary explores Coach TJ’s success in providing guidance for the many players who live fatherless, delivering the nurturing and strength they need to graduate and be successful in life.
This link is specific to the media and will be made available for viewing from Thursday, April 29 at 8:00am to Sunday, May 2 at 8:00am.
On Tuesday, May 4, interviews will be made available between 5:30pm and 6:00pm on the Red Carpet at iPic, 455 N.E. 5th Avenue Suite D Box 265 Delray Beach, FL 33483 before and after the private screening. Guy R. Phillips – Architect of Thrilling Science Fiction Adventures
Guy R. Phillips was born in humble beginnings and raised in Phoenix Arizona. At an early age his mother spoke of seeing ufos that seemed to follow her. Guy was fascinated by the thought of other beings and while only seeing one ufo in his lifetime, he nevertheless stood by the notion that we are not alone in the universe, and that perhaps the god(s) most believe in is actually an extraterrestrial who was misinterpreted as a God by primitive human beings, unable to understand and without the words to properly describe what they saw and communicated with.
As a 30-year business professional and public figure for 8 years, Guy has written and published two novels, “Of Courage & Character,” and “2084,” both political thrillers, but his real passion lies with the unknown.
Guy has drawn from the knowledge of past and present extraterrestrial articles, stories and first-hand accounts and has skillfully combined this knowledge to write Alien Armageddon. It is his hope the reader will broaden their understanding of the universe and our place in it, and while it may ruffle a few religious feathers, Guy has presented to us a new scenario of the human experiment and where we are headed.
